Photo of the Week: Parliament
The Hungarian Parliament building is one of Europe’s oldest legislative buildings and is currently the largest building in Hungary. The building is built in the Gothic Revivial style similar to the House of Parliament in London and Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Its main facade faces the Danube river and is quite a sight when see from across the river. The building is a huge tourist attraction, making it one of the most photographed landmarks in Budapest. It offers tours to the public which I have yet to go on, but I’ve heard amazing things about the rooms inside.
I had only ever see the Parliament building from across the river. When I walked out of the closest metro stop, this was the first thing I saw. The building is massive and captured your attention right away. There was so much detailing in every corner of the building. I could probably stand and just stare for a good hour.
