Frustration
Yesterday was a day of fail. I haven’t been so frustrated in such a long time. I had an extremely long day (12 hours!) I had a class in the morning starting at 8:00 which required me waking up around 6:30 in order to get there in time. The day of fail started with my alarm not going off. Thankfully I had told my roommate that I was getting up the same time as she was so she woke me up.
When I arrived at the company, there was no one there. By time the clock hit 8:00, my student still hadn’t arrived. The receptionist arrived shortly after, and she gave my student a call. Turns out that my student was not in the office that day. We had talked about certain days that she was not in the office, and yesterday was not on the list. And so I got up ridiculously early for no good reason.
The day went okay. No big problems.
In the evening I was administering a listening and oral exam to one of my classes. I’ve never had to write an exam or administer one. No one had explained the process to me and when I asked it was difficult to get a straight answer. The receptionist at the school didn’t really know what was going on. In the end, I left almost 40 minutes late. I was so frustrated with the confusion and the lack of assistance.
But at least now I know.
