I’ve been here for a week and a half now and almost every day that I’ve been here, it has rained. I’ve had only 2 rain free days. I thought I would be escaping the rain when I left Vancouver, but apparently it has followed me here.
This morning I woke up to a thunderstorm. I was so confused. I thought it was a plane flying over, but as I woke up, I quickly realized that planes don’t fly over the city so it must be thunder.
The good thing about the rain here is that it comes and goes quickly. There will be a flash down pouring and within a half hour, the rain will be all gone. Most people don’t seem to carry umbrellas. When the rain is coming down, people usually stay under cover in subway stations or by the side of buildings, waiting it out.
I thankfully brought an umbrella so I just walk through it. At least the rain cools down the city, making it less sticky and warm. And if you do get wet? You’ll be dry in no time due to the heat.
