Happy Birthday Trams!

This year, Budapest trams are celebrating its 125th birthday (Hungarian). The first tram route in Budapest were built in 1887 and connected Nyugati Pályaudvar (Budapest’s Western, and oldest, train station) with Király street. 125 years later, a tram still runs that same route – of course much expanded. There will be a number of activities and events held in the next few months to celebrate. 

To put this into perspective, Vancouver, Canada only turned 125 years old last year in 2011.
