This weekend I went on a day trip to Szentendre which is a small picturesque town just outside of Budapest. I’ve been told by many people to go and visit the town and I’m so glad that I did. The day was glorious – sunny and warm. It was the perfect day to be out wandering some place new.
Szentendre is about 40 minutes outside of Budapest and is easily accessible by the HEV (suburban railway system). Its a short walk from the HEV stop to the center of the town. I was surprised by the number of people who were out and about. It seemed like everyone was out enjoying the sun and doing some shopping. Szentendre is known for its artists and galleries and we wandered in and out of some of the shops filled with artisan products.
It was really nice to get out of the city for a bit and enjoy the sun. Spring is definitely in the air. I had my first ice cream of the season while wandering the streets. I can’t wait for summer!
